"He blamed infighting and individual posturing (PR) as having an adverse effect on government operations and efficiency"

He's a politician, remember.....

" He alluded to the allegations of official corruption, but personally doubted any extensive corruption"

Depends on the definition of "extensive", on the other hand he was explicit in his condemnation of Tymoshenko taking the Nikopol Ferroalloys Plant, and passing it on to her backers.

The part about Russian involvement is called a "joke", a concept you seem to be unfamiliar with, you should look it up somewhere and read about it, I made this joke since on this board, almost anything bad in Ukraine is usually alleged to be the fault of Russians, OK? The allegations of corruption are certainly to blame for the breakup, even if it's not publicly acknowledged by Yushenko, and Yushenko NEVER makes such acknowledgments publicly, as an example when he stood in front of the Rada on live TV, and was about to read out the list of companies who cheated on VAT payments, he ordered the cameras turned off, Yushenko is not very friendly towards journalists, maybe he feels the public doesn't have a right to know, as for example the source of his campaign funding. So however you want to "spin" this, allegations of corruption (made publicly) led to disputes (no kidding!) and Yushenko felt it best to hit the rest button. So after SEVERAL of his cabinet members resigned after making corruption charges against other members of the cabinet, and perhaps with more about to, there would no longer be a shred of credibility left to him if he DIDN'T terminate them. Thank you for calling me a niwit, but I hope you will consider the use of the Spanish cretino or French imbécile, as they add a certain international ambiance to your simple insults.
