Most of the cabinet ministers will keep their jobs. It's customary to dismiss the entire cabinet when a prime minister changes, so that the new one can have a cabinet of his/her own choosing. YUSHCHENKO DIDN'T CHOOSE THE CABINET. That's the PM's prerogative. All the ministers (except Tomenko, who resigned) remain at their posts for now, and I think that many of them will be back.
The press is oversimplifying this. THE CABINET WASN'T FIRED BECAUSE OF CORRUPTION. They were fired because, under Tymoshenko's leadership, they were inconsistent, erratic and working at cross-purposes. Tymoshenko has nothing to be proud of: inflation, practically no foreign investment, vendettas against her political enemies... It had to stop.
: Let's see, Yushenko wins the election against Yanukovich because he said Yanukovich was corrupt, now 8 months later he has to dismiss his ENTIRE cabinet WHOM HE CHOSE because he says THEY'RE all corrupt. Clearly the Russians are behind all of this, years of abuse, yada, yada, .......
