Dear President Yuschenko,
As an American of Ukrainian ancestry, like your wife, I am writing to you with a request.
No doubt you have seen the pictures of the horrors along America's Gulf Coast and no doubt you have seen the situation worsening.
It is with that in mind that I ask in the name of all Americans of Ukrainian heritage that if the Ukrainian Airforce could task on or two An-124s to the USA temporarily to assist with the movement of emergency relief supplies to the stricken areas.
The An 124, the largest cargo plane in the world, could bring a greater number of supplies to staging areas nearer to where they are needed than some of the current US Airfoce's conventional transports.
I realize it is asking something extraordinary of my "cousins" in Ukraine, but Ukrainians as a whole never shirked when it came time to stand for something. Let the US see that Ukrainian courage and goodness knows no limits.
