The events in New Orleans and the rest of the Gulf Coast are truly numbingly sad.
I did not write the post above. But I share the thought.
I think that for a variety of reasons this is a bigger tragedy than 9/11.
It is something that we did to ourselves by neglect for our environment.
I do spend a large amount of time reading about events in NO and the Gulf.
The costs in health are yet to be determined. I cannot imagine what it is like to abandon a hospital under such circumstances.
I would volunteer to go down there but I have responsibilities here.
