Poverty is a major contributor to human misery and a source of exploitation and profit.

I don't why she got involved with the marriage service - and I personally don't know why she pursued the course of action which she did - even really smart people have done some really stupid things. I could speculate what her motivations were and she could have become the next Tyra of the modeling world or enjoyed a very privileged life as a "trophy wife". Whatever propelled her, I really don't know. I could speculate greed as a motivating factor - just as people continue to purchase lottery tickets in the face of all reason but my point is that no one deserves her fate. My mind still boggles that Anna Nicole Smith married a billionaire and ended up with nothing but she did not end up in the trunk of a car (nor should anyone).

I just don't your viewpoint but I really don't understand Cullen's. Why did he kill her? When I first heard of the story I lept to the conclusion that the husband was responsible - as has been true in so many cases. But the boyfriend? He couldn't just break off the relationship?

Your views are an example of the "girl got raped, she deserved what she got" mentality which is just so, (at a loss for words simply because it is so, so, ... sigh). How can anyone be so dismissive and so callous? Are you at all a religious or spiritual person? Don't you believe in the sanctity of human life and the human spirit? Aren't people more than just a collection of their anatomical parts or do you perceive people as just objects?

In regards to life stories - have you heard of the following "An Alabama man faces theft and manslaughter charges in the death of a gas station owner during a drive-off.

Police say Alvin Dwight Benefield tried to get away with not paying for $52 worth of gas he'd pumped in his SUV. Authorities say the owner tried to stop the driver by grabbing onto the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but was run over and killed.

The incident occurred last Friday in the rural Alabama town of Fort Payne. The victim's son is preparing to bury his father in his native Indonesia."
