You know perfectly well that Christians are not obliged to follow the Mosaic Law of the Old Testament. Judaism and Islam are religions of practice. Christianity is not. The reasons for this are laid out in St. Paul's Letter to the Romans, Letter to the Galatians and the Letter to the Hebrews. I suggest you read them.
I never suggested that patriotism is a bad thing. But Christians must love God above all other things. The greatest commandments are to love God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength, and to love you neighbor as yourself. (And just to remind of us of who are neighbors are, Jesus immediately proceeds to relate the parable of the good Samaritan.)
If politics (or greed, or anger, or lust, or the pursuit of power, or any number of other false gods) get in the way of this, or if love for one's own country leads a person to hate others, these need to be reigned in and put back into a proper perspective, because they've spun out of control.
