I am thinking an answer while being busy. I just do not have time to write it. It seems obvious to me.

I guess a Harvard man can stand up for himself.

I do not feel sorry for anyone in Moscow making a better salary than I do here in New York.

First, I do not think that every Harvard MBA needs to make $200,000 per year or half that even. Second, Harvard MBAs do not have the answers to everything. Third, salaries do help. One can individual get individual idealistic MBAs to work for NGOs or start up organizations for much less than the going salary, but to run a country industrial sector or a company one has to pay competitive salaries.

It is better to pay some $200,000 per year working on the scheme of privatization in Ukraine selling billions of assets than to pay someone $500 per month and have him take bribes and undervalue and undersell Ukrainian enterprises. So high salaries have their place when dealing with slippery financial decisions and perceptions. It is a universally recognized tool against corruption.
