I hate to disabuse Vasyl & the other people who said I know nothing about these countries. It so happens, I do.
I spent about half a year in Ireland, in a place called Dundalk - right on the border bet.Eire and North Ireland; I had a lot of time to see the fighting & death - thank you!
Spain - I spent some months in Barcelona. During that time 46 people died in the Basque fighting.
Mexico - well I have been about 50 times to Mexico, and built a factory in Torreon, Mexico (a 6 months stay). Do not tell me about Mexico: the powerty, the 12-year-oldf girls that worked in our factory fo 30 cents a week, the corruption, tyhe police brutality, the power of the Mafia gangs, the cruel suppression of the Indians (especially in Chiapas state).
I could go on. I travelled all over the world during my 50-year career and stayed for months in a great many countries.
Let me tell you one thing, folks (especially the fellows from Ukraine: Over the last 12 years I also lived for a sum total of about 2 years and saw it all. You thing you have it bad. Yes - your life SHOULD BE BETTER and I worked my ass off trying to help.
But believe me - 3/4 of the world lives in much worse circumstances than Ukraine does. I have seen it all: hunger, epidemics, anarchy, constant fighting, warlords, crime, corruption, oppression, tyranny, torture, misery of every kind....
Believe me fellows: Ukraine seems like paradise compared to some places. I still remember my oldest son, whom I met at Boryspil, where he came directly from India. He was kissing the ground when he landed in Ukraine... He just kept asking: where are the naked dying children in the ditches?...
