Do you consider this prayer of a Lemko woman ridiculous? It does not sound to be very patriotic Ukrainian since Ivano-Frankivsk is for her "a foreign land".

Боже! Дай мені сили прожити день сьогодніший, допомогти вижити на цій іншій землі, куди привезли мене і моїх дітей!
Господи! Молю і благаю Тебе, не дай пропасти мені і моїй родині, моїм людям, що пізно посіяли зерна священні; в літі веснують, а коли і що збирати будуть – не знають.
Боже милостивий! Зроби так, щоб сонце сходило і заходило, щоб світило всім людям і мені так, як сходило там, у Бескидах, в моїх рідних горах і долинах; щоб жито і всяке зело вродило нам, і до зими всі ми були з хлібом і сіном, і всяким збіжжям, що дає живність і людині, і птиці, і худобині.
Всевишній Господе! Не дай забуття, ні днесь, ні завтра, ні потім; допоможи втримати в пам”яті всі красоти краю, Бескидів, наших багатих, цілющих, чистих вод у ріках: Бистрому, Попраді, Сяні; пам”ятати всі красні і принадні краєвиди полонини, гір перелісків; не забути найбагатші грибовиська, найпахучіші ягідники і ожинники, яфирники і малинники, зруби й пасовиська!
Не дай Боже забути звичаї свої, говірку співучу, бійканки і співанки, забави і вечірки в дні свят і в дні робіт!
Господи! Дай мудрости моїм дітям тягнутися до рідної землі своїх дідів і прадідів, шанувати їх могили, церкву, віру.
Боже! Наділи моїх дітей, внуків і правнуків всіма дарами святого духа - як: мудрість, розум, рада, мужність, знання, побожність, а також найголовнішими чеснотами людини: як віра, надія, любов.
Господи! Дай мені і моїм дітям розуму відрізнити добро від зла, щастя, від нещастя, дай мені мудрости оцінити добро, бути вдячною за добро!
Дай мені вміння наудоумити ворога, дай мені щирости допомогти бідному, дай витримки переконати злого, навчити невмілого.

Let us not, O God, forget our folk customs, our melodious native language, our stories and our songs, our dances and our evening gatherings on holy days and workdays.
O Lord! Give my children the wisdom to find their way back to the native land of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers to pay respect and to honor their graves, their churches, and their faith.
O God! Grant unto my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren all the gifts of your Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Reason, Courage, Knowledge, Humility, and also give them the most important of all the virtues of a human being - Faith, Hope and Love.
O Lord! Bestow upon my children and me the knowledge to recognize good from evil, and happiness from misfortune, and give me the wisdom to value goodness and to be grateful for my well-being!
Grant me the ability to influence an enemy, give me the sincerity to help the poor, and also give me the perseverance to convince the wrongdoer of the evil of his ways, and to teach those who do not know.
