They are mountain people and their culture was not influenced so dramatically by nomadic people z dykoho polja as it is in the case of Ukrainians. They did pretty well. They are not on the periphery of American society. Their earned their living by hard and very productive work and more importantly, made a significant contribution to industrialization of USA.
