In the area where I live people were collecting money from time to time to sent to orphanage in Kyiv. About 1 year ago one of the organizers of that help travelled to Kyiv and wanted to deliver personnally what was collected. To his disappointment he found not an orphanage but a private address.
I think that everything will be stolen one or other way. Help your relatives, needy friends, go to school or kindergarten next time when you visit Ukraine and help what you can.
