: : Many people who are native born Americans who have ancestors from the area of north-east Slovakia claims to be Russian. They want nothing to do with anything Ukrainian or Slovak. The funny thing is that these desendants(of the "Rusyny") claim to speak Russian, when in fact they speak a dialect of Ukrainian.
: : My conclusion, is that if these people want to be Russian, Slovak, Italian, Greek or any other ethnicity let them be what they choose to be.
: : My ancestors were from the Lemko region located in south-east Poland. I am not Polish, Russian, Slovak, or Rusyn. I am proud of my Ukrainian heritage.
: Now there's some logic for ya!
: The Ukrainian rallying cry is
: Rusyn = Ukrainian
: And yet you, Lemko Janik, are a Ukrainian but NOT A RUSYN. As you say.
: * whatever. *
"bez mena"- I understand that the concept of being Lemko-Ukrainian is much to complicated for you to comprehend. Can't expect much from a Russian/Rusyn/Slovak or whatever.
