RE: Nonsense, as much as Russian speaking Ukrainians feel to be Russian. Furthermore, the statement in the first two sentences contradicts to the statement in the third sentence. The author is either confused or cannot see a simple fact beyond the trident, namely that people of Subcarpathia in general, and Rusyns in particular, have developed a remarkable degree of tolerance, a capacity to understand and fully appreciate the culture of neighbors. This is quite unique, if one takes in consideration the history of nationalism in central and east Europe with its catastrophic outcomes. For nationalists, this is tough to understand, as for me the insanity of the nationalists.

RE: This is the leftovers of the Bolshevik paranoid thinking that is so prevalent among the politicians, reporters (etc.) of Samostijna Ukraina. It is only natural that Subcarpathia has very strong connections to Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Czech republic where sizable minorities of Rusyns live. During the communists era the “Misceva vlada” had a luxury to ignore it, because Kreml’ ordered that all Rusyns will be Ukrainians. Period. Of course, the communists in these countries complied, but not current governments. Currently, there are 25 000 Rusyns in Hungary and only 2000 Ukrainians, and in Slovakia 17 000 Rusyns and 13 000 so called Rusyns-Ukrainians, a compound word invented by communists such as Mikola Mushinka. However, all (50 000) claimed that Rusyn is their native language and not Ukrainian.

RE: Since when economical development that requires sound monetary policy, investments, banking, work ethic, skilled work force, reasonable taxation, free market, rule of law etc. can be substituted by “zhypel’ separatismu”. Let’s hope that guys with this bolshevik thinking will fade away very soon so that Ukraine can get out of its marauding status.

RE: I do believe in this. The bureaucratic parasites in SBU can generate a fictive “nebezpeka” just to further plunder the meager resources of Ukraine. Why would it be “nebezpeka” for Ukraine if the climate for investments in Mukachevo (Subcarpathia) turned out to be better that in Koshice (Slovakia) or in Debrecen (Hungary)?
Окрім Москви, підтримувати русинство можуть Будапешт, Братислава та Прага — чи то з історичних сентиментів, чи то, щоб полегшити асиміляцію українських меншин.
RE: Moscow does not support Rusyns, though they should because Rusyns are more tolerant towards the Russian minority in Subcarpathia than, for instance, Estonians or Latvians. Budapest, Bratislava and Prague provide as much support as to other minorities in these countries (e.g. the same as to Hungarian or Roma minorities in Slovakia etc.), although Prague should provide more support, because Rusyns were fighting for Czechoslovakia against the Nazi Germany.

RE: Crap! Very little financial support is obtained from abroad. It should be 10-to-100-fold more than it is currently provided. Why should it be bad for Ukraine if people of Subcarpathia get more financial support?

Єдина "русинська" газета виходить кількатисячним накладом двічі в місяць і має списання в кіосках до 90%. Від руху відхрестилися всі провідні партії на Закарпатті. RE: Nonsense, the previous local government was headed by Mr. Ustich. This guy was not from Subcarpathia. As far as I know, he was from Podolia or Galicia. Regarding the rethoric, it is worthless in the whole Ukraine because it is heavily tainted by the Bolshevik culture.

RE: If Mykola Mushinka is renown scientist than Yanko=Albert Einstein. Academician Mushinka belongs into the category of academician Lysenko, the pride of Ukrainian science. He significantly contributed to slovakization of Rusyns by the forced ukrainization. This was the Stalin’s and Ukrainian Bolshevik official policy that Rusyns in Slovakia have to be Ukrainians and Rusyns rather become Slovaks or Madiars than Ukrainians.

Православна церква ще дотримується церковнослов'янської, але теж дрейфує у бік денаціоналізації. Уже минуло 5 літ, як кодифікували "русинську" літературну мову. За даними Державного педагогічного інституту у Пряшеві, нині її по всій Словаччині вивчає аж 69 учнів! Американський професор Роберт Ротштейн попереджував, що крім кодифікації, мусить бути ще й бажання широких кіл населення користуватися новою літературною мовою на практиці. Інакше вона стане мертвонародженою. Але яке там бажання, коли невдовзі не буде й самого населення."

I have red the whole article and it carries all attributes of the Bolshevik culture that, unfortunately, is deeply ingrained in minds of people in Ukraine. One cannot do anything but wait for a new generation.
