You do protest too much, all the eastern block countries are going through a very similar process of "democratization", the graft was always there, just no-one complained about it because that's how the "soviet state" was run officially, the black market eventually took over 80 % of the economy and the old "soviet onion" imploded. The KGB helped it along for nearly 10 years, as they were already laundering monies to the west through front companies they set up for intelligence purposes, they in turn were taken over by instant millionaires after the "onion" imploded and once again laundered the money into the U.S. were they set up many off shore companies and laundered the money again, and again. Then they bought their way into the arms and drug trade, where the volumes of money that were stolen could be laundered again, and again, and our tax dollars here in the U.S. are paying for it, and will be paying for it for many years.
