: To Ihor=Yanko from Joe
: : Well, you are absolutely right. It is Mr.Lipinsky's fault that he pointed out the Soviet type of imperialistic politics in Samostijna Ukraina.

: Ihor: Please don't give me the words I didn't say.
: RE: You do it far more frequently than I.

For example?

:Perhaps you should know that as a result of the pressure of Ukrainian diplomats on Slovak government of the former PM Mechiar, the Rusyn text-books for elementary schools were not distributed and stored in a warehouse somewhere in Bratislava. I hope that you are proud of this achievement of Ukrainian diplomats.

Is there a reliable source that has written about it? If so, URL, please.

: Fortunately, this changed with government of PM Dzurinda and the Rusyn text-books are distributed to Rusyn children not only in Slovakia but also in Hungary.

Why would Ukrainian government interfere into Slovakia's internal affairs? I don't think so.

: : I was expecting you to react in this way.
: Ihor: I fulfilled your expectations.
: RE: As always

Doesn't look that way. Except those times you say something incredibly stupid. But thanks God it doesn't happen all that often.

: Ihor: What other responce could this article get?
: RE: From Nationalistic Ukrainian one can expect only denial and Bolshevik type of propaganda against it..

Blah-blah-blah. I asked you a question you didn't answer, and I don't care for the rest. Oh wait, you did so below, I'll comment it instead your meaningless (and pretty stupid too) accusations.

: Ihor And you didn't answer my main question, "conveniently omitted" it, so to say.
: RE: What was the question?

Never mind, you answered it below.

: Ihor: What celestial authority made Mr. Lipinsky spokesman and representative of Ukrainian Rusyns or all Rusyns?
: He speaks in the name of 50 000 Rusyns in Slovakia. The Rusyns have right to have a spokesmen. Ukrainians have too. Why are you asking? Do you mean that Rusyns of Slovakia are obliged to ask permission from Kiyev?

No, I mean that he speaks for all Rusyns, not only Slovak ones. Which of course he has no reason to do, no authority either.

from the article:

"This "aid" is also given to the Union of Rusyn-Ukrainians which, says Lipinsky, "is aimed at deceiving the public by creating the
impression that it represents the interests of Rusyns."

That Union may represent Ukrainian Rusyns. Does Lipinsky claim that in some magical way he represents all Rusyns, in both Slovakia and Ukraine? There are more Rusyns in Ukraine than in Slovakia, right? Therefore it represents the majority. And at least it represents Rusyns in a country where most of them live (actually I've heard somewhere that this country is US, but I find it kinda hard to believe). While I don't think any organisation represents ALL Rusyns, Slovakian org. doesn't represent Ukr. Rusyns and vice versa. I'm just clearing that up so they'll be no more misunderstandings like in the answer of yours I'm replying to.

: He does not speak in the name of those Rusyns who converted into Ukrainian nationality.

Neither he does for those who didn't but still live in Ukraine.

: Problem is that there are few Ukrainians and thus less amount of money is given to Ukrainian organizations now as it was before. During the communist regime all Rusyns were Ukrainians. Period.

And that may be wrong. It's for Ukrainian Rusyns to decide.

: The guys representing Ukrainians in Slovakia are former members of communist party of Slovakia, so called "red docents" teachers at Universities, particularly in Preshov and Koshice. Many of them came from Ukraine. They were teaching such subjects as Scientific Communism or Political Economy or History of USSR, Ukrainian language etc. Since nobody is interested any more in these subjects,

I understand everything except no interest in Ukr. language. If there once was, there still is.

: they have been trying to get other way to control financial resources, so they try to play with Ukrainian nationalism and use the hybrid word Rusyn-Ukrainian alive. Well, you can guess that their contribution to increase esteem towards Ukraine has had opposite effect.

Among who?

: : However, I can assure you that your safety as well as the other Het'mans with the Soviet imperialistic mentality is not in question because I do not eat pork.

: Ihor: Still high?
: RE: Not as much as you used to be.

Sorry, Joe, I've never used drugs in my life, except antibiotics you can't get high with.

: : Please feel free in your activities in producing of high numbers of Ukrainian beggars and prostitutes in the name of Samostijna Ukraina.
: Ihor: Uh-huh. Now he starts insulting our country. Good ol' US of A is really a fine place for you.
: RE: Of course, I never though about it that Ukraine east from Carpathian Mountains would be a place for me.

Duh! You wouldn't insult Ukrainians and Ukraine there.

: : Furthermore, it is almost impossible for me to soak my brain in horilka, as for instance you can do.

: Ihor: Anyone can. But I don't drink vodka.
: : I drink kosher wine.
: Ihor: And I like beer. So what? I don't drink more than a bottle.
: RE: You are the most unusual Ukrainian.

No, Joe, like most other Ukrainians, I'm not an alcoholic, is this a surprise for you?

: At least if you drink four or five bottles of beer, one might consider that you have something to do with Czechs or Bavarians.

On special occasions I might drink 2 or 3. Enough for being considered Bavarian?
