I would like to inform shanovne panstvo of the birth of the new Ukrainian university and community organization in Iowa -- Iowa State Ukrainian Club.
There are few Ukrainians and Ukrainian Americans in Iowa. However, the inflow is growing as more students are coming from Ukraine to settle here. The Iowa State Ukrainian Club (ISUC) is the initiative of about 40 people - Ukrianins and Americans - to promote Ukrainian awareness and culture in this U.S. region. The immediate plans for Fall 2002 include Independence Day celebration and participation in Ames Ethnic Cultural Heritage Festival.
ISUC has a relatively strong financial support from the community.
ISUC welcomes mentorship and contacts with other university and community Ukrainian organizations. Our email is: juliad@iastate.edu
