RE to Yanko from Joe -- History
: : : Why do you think that Ukraine cannot potentially behave in time similarly as Russians and Soviets did!
Yanko: Well, Joe, reality need not care what you think it should be.
RE: That was my point and that’s why I rejected your previous statement “..I have no reason to think so.” as very unrealistic. You know very well that Stalin would have pushed even further the borders of the Soviet Empire if he had not been facing the power of the West. (e.g. the West Berlin blockade).
Yanko: I am sure, the fact that international politics is governed primarily by the law of the jungle is no big news to you.
:RE I agree, but there are exceptions. One cannot claim this “law of the jungle” to post-war development in the West Europe in EU countries (European Community). For instance, compare the relations between Germany and France now and hundred years ago.
Yanko: I do not know if there was a special document,..>
RE: You know that there were documents :YANKO, did you participate in generating of these documents?
Yanko: No, but I like them.
RE: Do you like them? THIS PRODUCT OF BOLSHEVIK CULTURE! DOCUMENTS INSTRUCTING how to CONVERT FORCFULLY RUSYNS into UKRAINIANS. THIS WAS GENERATED in 1996-97!!!
Don’t you think that this Bolshevik culture combined with irrational nationalism is the greatest enemy of Ukraine?
Yanko:Yes, I do. This has no relevance to the question discussed, though.
RE: No relevance!? Yanko, and what are we discussing, Tychyna’s poem commissioned by Stalin or current Bolshevik policy of Samostijna Ukraina toward the Rusyns?
If you (Ukrainians) are not capable to handle fairly the Rusyns...
Yanko: Well, that you (Americans) think that we (Rusyns) are not "handled fairly", does not necessarily mean this is true. That is why this should not bother me.
RE: DON’T BE SO SMART A… and DON’T FORGET that YOU REPRESENT ONLY ONE RUSYN OF SUBCARPATHIAN RUS.
:
RE: You are wrong about the Bolshevik version of Kiyevan Rus adapted for NATIONALISTIC UKRAINE!
Yanko: “Therefore it is YOUR JOB to provide evidence. Good luck.”
RE::The evidence is that the crest of Carpathian Mountains had been the natural border for 1000 years
Yanko: Well, I would say for more than that,
RE: To be more precise over 1400 years if we take in consideration that the first Slavic people settled here in Vth and VIth century. However, the border, crest of the Carpathian Mountaines, very distinctly separated the cultures in Ukraine/Russia from the culture of the Danube basin including Subcarpathia. Before Slavic people settled in “Ukrainian steps”, Skytians inhabited it and become a part of ancestors of current Ukrainians. The territory of Subcarpathia (Transcarpathia) were inhabited by Frankonian and Celtic tribes who were pushed out but also absorbed partly by Slavic people, ancestors of Rusyns and Slovaks.
Yanko:” yet this did not prevent Hungarians from crossing the mountains.”
RE: .Yes, and Hungarian even today consider it one of the most important events during they journey from East (Volga). Because Magyar tribes crossing through the Verecky pass were not attacked. Similarly, the Tatars crossed the Jablunecky pass, because it was not defended. However, they did not succeed for the second times and the Tatars were defeated, though for a long time, they continued to control the territory east from the Carpathian Mountaines (Ukraine/Russia). Similarly, centuries later, the Russian Czarist Army failed to cross the Carpathian Mountains during the IWW and the Red Army crossed at Dukla, the lowest elevation (540m), but for an enormous human cost. Even today, in rainy season, you cannot get from Rachovo to Ivano-Frankivsk.
Yanko: Similarly, it did not prevent the principality of White Croats from joinig the rest of Rus. Your "evidence" is not very convincing, Joe.
RE: Nonsense, Yanko. Magyars dominated the area of Subcarpathia since 903. Are you telling me that from 903 to 1015 Ukrainians from Kiyevan Rus were flaying on jet planes over heads of Magyar horse men? Croatian Principality as well as Great Moravia stopped to exist very soon after arrival of Magyar tribes. There was no Croatian Principality after 898.
