: : I have heard when she corrected a correspondent (who addressed to her "Lyudmylo Mykolayivno!") "My name is Lyudmila Nikolayevna and this name is not translated!"

: A note aside: this is one of rare cases I can agree with her. I simply don't know why we have to "translate" every Russian name into its Ukrainian analog. No one tries to translate "William Clinton" into "Volodymyr Clinton", why does it then have to be "Volodymyr Putin"?

- I don't say about every name. Nor Clinton, nor Putin are Ukrainian President or Ukrainian First Lady. I even have nothing against "Lyudmila Nikolayevna" if she like Sonya Ghandi learned and used the language of country where she stays.
