Mr. Grabowicz,
Ukrainians enjoy many things in life; some of these things appeal to a large number of other nationalities, some only appeal to a few or are found only in the Ukrainian culture, but often copied elsewhere. I feel that Brama shows us readers an accurate portrait of what is on the mind (and more often, in the hearts) of Ukrainians all over the world. Brama has covered some very serious topics (and to me, my favourite nalysnyky fillings are important) and I'm sure it will continue to do so. If you go and read the responses of some of those people, you will see serious topics as well as not so serious ones are important to them too. Ukrainians are not serious all the time, nor should we be-life is too short. I enjoy the off kilter as well as the religious, political, and social topics presented here on Brama, and I also enjoy Ukrainian recipes and beverages (after all, I DO eat and drink; don't you?). I think you should perhaps pick a few serious topics and send them in to Brama to post at some time in the future- such as should Ukraine have given Russia lease of several ports in the Crimea, even though it is part of Ukraine? Or, are the Don and Kubanski Kozaks Ukrainian? Or, are Ukrainian women the most attractive in the world? Or, should Ukrainians unite with Belarus and Russia voluntarily? Or, is salo worth it's weight in salo?
All I know is, I am leaving tomorrow for Ukraine for 2 weeks. I intend on drinking, I intend on eating a varenyk or four, and God willing, I intend on kissing a few Ukrainian women. Thank God I'm Ukrainian!
