I agree. What Ukraine needs is a strong, honest stable government that puts people first. One good example is Lazarenko. These are the kinds of leaders Ukraine does not need. Ukrainian citizens have suffered much, now they have the opportunity to work hard and in turn prosper, which, in the past, was impossible. This is hard to do when everything is against them and yet they have such great patience, hoping that things will change.
Tourism is one of the ways to increase prosperity and yet the government sees fit to make it difficult for "tourists" to enter the country.
Recently the government loosened regulations for "visitors" to enter Ukraine by changing regulations for invitations. Are "tourists" not "visitors"?
In fact tourists can leave behind many mnay dollars. My company, for one, will be escorting over 100 "tourists" to Ukraine this year. Over and above the money they spend for accommodations, meals etc, they have created employment for guides, bus companies and lwill leave behind a lot of much needed dollars, yet the government continues to make it difficult for them to visit.
Being a young democracy I can see the necessity for visa's, that gives them some control of who enters the country, but yet, like gun control, shady individuals will get into Ukraine regardless of regulations.
I stongly believe that invitations are nothing more than a cash cow and eliminating them for "visitors" and not "tourists" is a big mistake.

: : I agree with strict visa requirements! I am an American of Ukrainian origin who recently travelled to Ukraine and experienced firsthand the strict requirements. It protects the country. There are enough goofballs in this world. Ukraine is unstable enough without letting them in unregulated.

: You think this will solve Ukraines stability? As you call goofballs; if they want to get into the country, visas will not stop them. What will bring stability to Ukraine,a good honest security force and sincere people that want to build strong free country. Most people from free countries are being treated as criminals will not solve the prroblem.
