RE: Nether Do I and thank you. Unfortunately, there are a number of nationalistic Ukrainians who pathologically are against Rusyns.
To me it seems Rusyns trying to break away from Ukraine and take part of Ukraine and unite to with other country. I am under the impression,so are other people. That will never happen, but most Ukrainian people will get along with you no matter what you want to be.
RE:You think the same way as Russians for decades were thinking about nations in Soviet Union but in the end they behaved in a civilized way in terms of letting Ukraine to be independent. You should know that Subcarpathia was brutally annexed by Stalin in 1945 by violating all international agreements including the full rejection of Hitler's Munich Pact in 1938. There was no plebiscite, there was only a criminal communistic takeover supported by NKVD and SMERSH. After 10 years of Vilna Ukraina, the current Ukraine presents these communistic events as a will of the people. Everybody knows that borders cannot be changed in Europe. However, Subcarpathia cannot survive in current conditions because of the developing ecological problems. Are Ukrainians responsible for this? Of course, they are, because Kiyev "skasuvav" the aspiration for autonomy of people in Subcarapthia. For your information, Subcarpathia was twice granted autonomy in the XX century and, for several years, it had an independent status within USSR. People of Subcarpathia is the only one in Ukraine who had some experience with democracy and the rule of law in the first Czechoslovak Republic. In the same time when Ukrainians voted for independence, people of Subcarpathia voted for independence of Ukraine as well as for autonomy of Subcarpathia. Total of 78% of eligible individuals voted for autonomy in Subcarpathia. The point is that the only way how to build up protection against the flooding is to have a different infrastructure ( to increase the forestations and regulations of the rivers, building artificial lakes etc). The amount of money needed for this huge project is around $4 to $5 billion, and only EU has this kind of money. The current infrastructure in Kiyev is unacceptable because of Zherdickij, Lazarenko etc. culture. EU will not poor this money so that it will be stolen as in the past. If Subcarpathia has autonomy, is it possible to address the problem of infrastructure far better than in the current conditions. Thus, it is not enough to get along with Rusyns and in the same time to let destroy their lands but it is necessary to create such political conditions that economical and environmental problems can be effectively addressed.
