: : To "Rabotiaga":
: : It's not a prejudice agains people with insufficient education. They could be much brighter than some of those with the highest degrees. I myself almost whole my life was a simple laborer and served as a regular private for 2 years in the Soviet military. It's a prejudice against people like you, who offends national symbols of Ukraine, spits on its language and culture, and hates everything Ukrainian. I learned Russian language and literature for some 10 years in higher school and college and probably know it better then you, "raboriaga". I would rather spend my time learning English or any other more useful language. I would not allow myself to say to any Russian that knowledge of his language doesn't lead me further than Siberia. Your messages in English are quite different from those in Russian. You didn't use such words as "zhri", "salo", etc. By the way, my salo is no comparison to your "shchi". I would rather have 1 kilogram of my "salo" then 10 buckets of your "shchi". For those who don't know - "shchi" is a soup made of cabbage and water, no salo there, sort of national Russian dish. And what about coat of arms, can I mock you on this? Sure I can. What if I tell you that your coat of arms is a "double-headed raven" or even chiken for me. How do you feel? Or, let's say, if I tell you, doesn't matter what kind of "administrator" you are, you could be Yolop Mongolskyi anyway. How is this? As you see, no sophisticated mind is needed for doing such things. There is no end to it. My 1000 year old Trident and your Double-Headed Eagle as well as national colors should be respected. I don't want to lecture you on obvious things. So, culture does matter. Is any exit from this stupidity? What about me learning your language and culture and you learning mine and respecting each other. This is the best way and most people will tell you so.

:
: "Two-headed chiken" doesn't mean too much for me, either.
: I am not going to compare "shi" with "salo" or "bliny" with "varenyky" or
: "kolbasa" with "kovbasa" (for which people went to Moscow Ever heard of "Moskva kolbasnaja" station?)
: That is just dumb. I would prefer caviar anyways :)
: See, you can't grasp an idea of a person that does not care for big politics, other
: than times when political crap gets in a way of a normal, everyday life.
: Then I (and millions like me) get pissed and nothing good happens.
: And again, I don't need to learn ukrainian since I can speak Ukrainian and I am
: ethnically Ukrainian too, and I don't "hate everything Ukrainian".
: Gogol, for example, is one of my favorite writers.
: I just hate when somebody starts saying (or implying) "I am more Ukrainian than you are",
: or "Moskaliv treba gnaty z Ukrainy",or like that "professor's" posting just a few
: lines above which concludes that "ukrainian is a language of a people of great culture
: whereas russian is a language of bandits" etc.
: If you look at my first postings regarding the language, all that I said was that
: I don't think the decision to make Ukrainian the only official language is a
: good political decision at this point in time. And that (despite Lesia's "ne breshy"
: super-smart argument) political decisions are tightly connected with economy
: (I think last 10 years have proven that beyond any doubts).

To Rabotiaga.
As you remember everything started with that survey about "mova". You started with such things as "salo", your "expressions" about "Tryzub" and colors of the Ukrainian flag, Ukr. culture as inferior (I may not like personally to hear about "boyovyi hopak" and other similarities, to read some stupid "tvory", listen to some primitive radio or TV programs, it just makes me laugh, but I know it will take time before these "shedevry" will be left behind). And now you saying that you are Ukrainian. Can't believe this! You may belong to the herds of "hohols", it's possible, but these species need many volumes to be described.
I don't think many people will say that "moskaliv treba hnaty z Ukrainy", this is the viewpoint of tiny minority. Even this tiny minority is saying so because many Russians and their felow travelers bitterly oppose Ukr. language as state in Ukraine. I myself was portrayed almost as Nazi while trying to use my Ukrainian in russified areas and often called "banderovets". Is this because of superiority of Rus. culture?
In addition, most "hohly" know nothing about "banderivtsi" and sad history of Ukraine, except what they been told by people with the Communist party membership tickets next to their hearts. Before some became "politsai", 7 million innocent people in Ukraine were dead and you know this. Your communists have to be ashamed that many in Ukraine greeted Nazis as liberators because Nazis were better at that time than those lead by "tovarishch Stalin".
Why it's wrong for Russians and "hohly" learn Ukrainian I really don't understand. It's branded as not sophisticated and you support this, but it's simply is not true.
If you know history of English, it was used mostly by peasants in England while high stratas were using French, and who is using French now? We all were peasants at one time or another. Village folks in Russia live in much more remote and rural areas than those in Ukraine and we know how "cultural" they are. I don't believe in bad languages but I know there are bad people.
