More precisely, the country which does not respect human rights is poor as a rule.
Too many problems in economy, politics, etc.
Disrespect to human rights may cause even more problems, usually disintegration of the country into smaller countries, the process accompanied sometimes with wars.
: On the other hand US is okay with HR despite death penalty.
This penalty is rather rarely used in a few states. In terms of execution of death penalty, Ukraine had rank #3 after China and the Russian Federation.
