: Well, I looked over the list of WTO members at
: www.wto.org/wto/about/organsn6.htm
: Most of them are as poor if not poorer than Ukraine. Let me give you some examples: Angola, Chad, Cuba (!!!), etc.
If WTO consists of about 140 countries, and Human Development Index (HDI) of Ukraine is around 100, then there are WTO members with HDI below Ukraine.
By the way, HDI of Cuba or Mongolia is higher than that of Ukraine. Now Cuba and Mongolia are in commission which decides whether Ukraine is eligible for WTO membership.
If almost all African countries are WTO members, then there are some African countries poorer than Ukraine, but Ukraine is poorer than majority of African countries. The most important, Ukraine is poorer than any European country, including countries experienced civil wars, - Albania, Armenia, Georgia.
The countries you listed tell for themselves.
I listed Cuba, Mongolia, Albania, Armenia, Georgia, and majority of African countries.
However, it needs additional research to tell whether Angola and Chad are poorer than Ukraine.
Have you ever been in Georgia after collapse of SU?
: Thus, I DO NOT BELIEVE that our membership in WTO (or even in EC if they wanted use their which they don't) their will solve any of our economy problems.
Among others, membership in WTO reduces import tariffs on Ukrainian goods and services from about 40% to 4%. Isn't this useful for solving economic problems? The similar stories are for CE and EU.
: As for our international isolation. Is it like new boogie man? If you do not do what big hats say Ukraine will be kicked out form some world organizations.
Especially if you the poorest one which doesn't follow the rules.
Let me tell you what is the real situation is. More than half of our population is in poverty.
According to United Nations standards, more than 80%.
They do have enough hardship providing for children. From here, the real danger is hungry mobes and riotes.
The real danger is the attitude of some current officials who don't allow people to work to feed themselves and their children. Isn't it similar to Great Famine managed by the same communists?
If God forbids it happens Kichma will leave country. So will government and most of the parliament members. I am guessing that you already are not in the Fatherland. Am I wrong? That is why you talk about very abstract things.
This is very practical things.
: Sorry, my answer is a little emotional.
: Best regards.
