Please, take a close look who were people like Lincoln and Cromwell and when they acted. It was during the times of civil wars. The situation in Ukraine is serious, however it is not anywhere serious as a civil war. We have plenty of examples when a country doesn't need any "heroes" to become economically healthy and even prosperous.

Let's stop overdramatizing and start looking at things realistically. Those '1000 people' die not only in Ukraine, but in every country comparable with Ukraine in its population.

What Ukraine needs is a strong, working democratic system. Such system includes parliament with a stable majority. It also includes working laws and strong executive power.

: If you look at the history of "developed democracies" you will see that frequently they have had very competent people in the governments at the critical time. Like Lincoln, Cromwell, etc.
