but the contents are not eaten until after Easter Sunday Mass.

| Basket styles and some ingredients can vary across regions in Ukraine. This basket was prepared with western Ukrainian flavor. At the center is the traditional "paska" (Easter babka or bread) with a candle, butter, ham, kovbasa (sausage), eggs. These traditional items are topped off with gold-wrapped chocolates, and a small set of icons. |

various regions in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Museum (UkrainianMuseum.org) displayed a window into the future, showing a view of
the new museum building which is to be constructed on East 6th Street.
Rostyslaw Milanytch, head of the Museum fund-raising committee, was there
all weekend despite his wound incurred when cutting the display board "windows."

Plast, a Ukrainian scouting organization, always has especially tasty treats
for sale at the festival. The nalysnyky (cheese crepes or blintzes) were a hot item
at this booth, and kept long-time Plastuny Volodymyr Kornaha (center) and Mrs. Kosovych (right, in
Ukrainian costume) on their toes from Friday night through late Sunday evening.

Another entrepeneur, Ivan Kulak, usually sells Ukrainian-made nesting dolls and

Slavko Kurowyckyj, Sr. made a well-received appeal to the crowd at the festival,
asking that everyone attend the meeting at the Great Hall (Cooper Union, East 7th St.) on Tuesday May 29th
(6:30pm-8pm) to hear more about the demapping of Taras Shevchenko Place
and Cooper Union's development plans.
