The book has a collection of documents and factual
materials related to the language policies of the
Soviet Union related towards Ukrainian language.
These documents show the insidious intrusion into the
development of the Ukrainian language with the purpose
to bring it closer to the Russian language. These
efforts to create artificial closeness lead to the
destruction of the Ukrainian language as independent
linguistic formation. The book shows the specifics of
vocabulary, terminological and orthographical practice
from the time of the Soviet Union, which starting in
30-th years of the last century tried to eliminate the
sources of Ukrainian vocabulary, the phraseology and
even some word-creative grammatical forms by
substituting them with the copies from the Russian
language.

On the basis of many documents and factual materials
was created a record of the repressed vocabulary.

The work is for humanitarians, philologists,
historians, politicians, teachers, students,
aspirants, and all who is not different to the native
language.
