Greetings,

I just have been made aware of Bohdan Hurko's passing on December 11,
2008. However, all is not lost. Saturday, March 21, 2009 is the
anniversary of his birth when he would have been 83.

Bohdan Hurko hailed from Ukrayina, studied engineering in Austria and at
the University of Louisville in the state of Kentucky. In his lifetime, he
had over 60 patents.

Bohdan Hurko's claim to fame? The self-cleaning oven popularized by
General Electric.

On the tail end of the vernal equinox, toast Bohdan for relieving
civilization from yet one more burden of the kitchen.
