I think the document is important enough to be translated into English. The
“Commission for Prevention of Falsification of History to the Prejudice of
Russia's Interest”
should be exposed for what it is purported to be - ”Putinskii put’ k
pravde” (Putin’s way to truth), or a “Ministry of Truth”
Described in Orwell’s Ministry of Truth (Nineteen Eighty Four, in the spirit
of the Ministry’s maxim of “He who controls the past controls the future. He
who controls the present controls the past.”

In this connection interesting comment by Oleg Kozlovsky ( Russian Democracy
and Human Rights Activist)
“Medvedev Imposes Control Over Russian History”
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/oleg-kozlovsky/medvedev-imposes-control_b_2053
49.html
In which he states:

“Two topics are almost sure to be the first on the Commission's agenda:
Holodomor (famine in Ukraine and some other parts of the USSR, reportedly
planned and organized by Stalin) and the occupation of Baltic states by the
USSR. But soon, more subjects are probably to come.”

I think it would be useful to make a list of statements and comments by
leading intellectuals in Russia and the West who oppose the very thought of
the creation of such a totalitarian type institution and bring them to the
public’s attention.
