[aaus-list] Golos Rossii to start programming in Ukrainian

I don't know if anyone has already posted this. It would be interesting to
discuss the possible consequences of this new initiative in neighborly
relations between Russia and Ukraine. It is interesting that this initiative
coincides with the suspension of Ukrainian programmin of Voice of America
and after the coup de grace to the Ukrainian section of Radio Canada
International. Now Ukrainians, who did not listen to the Russian-languagae
programs from Russia will be able to do so in Ukrainian. Orlovsky, the head
of the SNG committee in the Russian Duma, made the aim of the programming
quite clear when he said that "now citizens of the near abroad will be able
to get objective information about Russian affairs, which are often deformed
in the their own press". Russia is slowly but surely reclaiming it's near
abroad...
