[aaus-list] moderation

Dear colleagues,

I am grateful to Prof. Pylypiuk for her support and want to reiterate:
posters who wish to post on non-AAUS topics should do so through the
brama list: politics at brama.com

If we receive further posts of an objectionable nature (in particular,
personal attacks, but also off topic discussions), I will have to take
the step of closing the AAUS list temporarily while I find a moderator
and we go through the difficult task of determining how to proceed
regarding who will remain subscribed. If I make this move, the list
might need to remain closed for a long time, perhaps even until the
AAASS meetings in November. This will make our association's work
considerably harder, as we need to use the AAUS list to circulate
information on our business.

A further question regards membership in AAUS. The AAUS list has been
taken over by discussions mainly engaged in by non-members - this list
was developed by our association for its business. Recently, it has been
hijacked by non members. If you would like to join the AAUS list, please
contact me and I will help you to join.

I very much regret having to write this e-mail and do not want to take
steps in the direction of closing the AAUS list to nonmembers. However,
an increasing number of the members of the AAUS are requesting that we
remove them from the list or else, remove nonmembers from the list, so I
am being put in a difficult position.

Let me reiterate: non-academic, political posters should post on the
brama politics list. Remain respectful and conduct personal debates off
list.

Regards,

Alexandra Hrycak, President (AAUS)
