[aaus-list] Holodomor & genocide on UOC-MP web site: an update

Saying "holodomor" to one audience and "genocide" to another obviously
looks like duplicity. But saying "genocide" to any audience is still
saying "genocide," not an insignificant statement for a church in
Moscow's jurisdiction.
Of course, the church is not an authority on international legal
questions, so it's just a "lay" opinion.
But if we are merely looking for the magic word "genocide" we are
applying a simplistic test and missing the point of the statement. It is
a deep indictiment of communist ideology, and thus a reminder to all
those Soviet nostalgizers that the USSR was a criminal state and the
Communist Party a criminal organization -- and this is noteworthy,
considering the alliance between the loony fringe of the Russian Church
and the die-hard pro-Soviet, anti-Ukrainian types.

Subject: [aaus-list] Holodomor & genocide on UOC-MP web site: an update

By the time you post my previous message, it will be outdated. But post
it
anyway - for the record.

The web site has been altered a little while ago, and now the word
"genocide" appears on the UOC-MP web site as well as on UNIAN,s.
However,
the UTR web site still has "holodomor", which would suggest that two
different versions had originally been sent out.
