While I'd be happy to meet everyone on this list (preferably over a drink, 
especially when you happen to be passing through Vermont), if every 
subscriber sent an e-mail simply to identify his/herself, as Alexandra 
requests, this could result in a flood of e-mails unlike any we've seen yet. 
Might it not be better to simply identify ourselves *WHEN* we have something 
of (scholarly) interest to share?

p.s. And now that I might have the right person's attention (my e-mail 
queries about this have gone unanswered): Is there any way one can renew 
one's AAUS membership using a credit card? It's the only easy method my 
university will support (we are going through Peoplesoft hell and checks are 
a hassle). Diakuyu.
