Dear Friends:

We at the USA/USA Program have done some very serious data collection in recent months with reference to fellowships at Harvard relevant to Ukraine.

We are in the long term process of organizing this information and publicizing it.

The recent tragic floods in Ukraine have underlined the responsibility that we have to make such information public sooner than we expected.

Harvard has a well funded fellowship in forest management. This is not a post-doctoral position. It is, however, well paid and appears flexible.

The importance of such fellowships should not be underestimated. The HIV/AIDS effort in Ukraine is run by an American educated Ukrainian, Andrei Klepikov.

Ukraine is greatly under-represented at Harvard.

In 2007-08 there were 16 students and fellows at Harvard from Ukraine.
  There are
  39 students Russia
  40 students Romania
  52 students Bulgaria
  15 students Poland
  90 students Turkey
  297 students South Korea

The USA/USA Program has graduates of the Kennedy School of Government, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. As of September the USA/USA Program will have three undergraduates at Harvard College and two post-doctoral students at Harvard Medical School.

  Thank

  Bohdan A. Oryshkevich
