I agree with Ivan's comment (below) - the 4 million figure is the *most
conservative *one, taking only what can be clearly documented at present, as
far as I know. I remember hearing the figure 7 million since childhood. The
recent 10 million or above figures have been surprising and I don't really
know exactly how those estimates have been reached. I mentioned before that
I also oppose propaganda in this matter. Ultimately, though, while the
number issue is important, it is not the most central issue, from the moral
point of view.

And how, pray tell me, does this compare with Bush's Iraq war lies? Don't
even go there, Vadim, the suggestion is bordering on grotesque. Now, if
Putin were to claim that Ukraine's efforts to have Holodomor recognized
endangered Russian culture and society and then went on to "pre-emptively"
attack Ukraine, THAT would be comparable. Otherwise the analogy is
untenable.
