We were married in Sep 97 and my wife was naturalized in Oct 02. The applications for AOS, etc. were always responded to with a "notice of action" letter with her alien # on it and I was able to contact the Vermont Service Center and check on the status. Five years with no action seems long, even with all the changes that have taken place. Has the service center (whichever you are dealing with) indicated your case is still active?
