holidays in Odessa

I'm 30 years and from Belgium and I'm planning my holidays in August to Odessa. It will be for me the first time in Ukraine. A few questions:
1) Is Odessa really that nice city like they told me ("Russian Riviera"
2) Can somebody gives me information about addresses where I can rent an appartment (for 2 or 3 weeks)
3) Is it recommendable to bring my car with me, or is there a chance that they will steel or damage my car
