Thanks for your advice! In fact, I am a Ukrainian citizen, so I am not sure whether what you said would apply to me as well. I'm not sure for how long I will stay in Ukraine either, maybe 2 months, maybe a year. But if I leave, I'll take the laptop with me.

: Do not worry! They are usually much nicer to foregners then to Ukrainians. ( I assumed that you are not Ukrainian) Do you plan to leave the laptop in Ukraine or bring it back?
: Every time I bring a computer I declare it and go through a red line. (But I always plan to go back with the laptop.)

: You must declare more than a 1000$ of cash you are bringing in. That's for sure.
