If one took part in the Green Card Lottery and didn't win?

Let's say one participates in the Green Card Lottery but doesn't win. Does anyone know if such person will automatically receive any record on their file with the US immigration services about their participation? And if yes, could it jeapordize(harm) future trials to work or study in the US?
