: : Dear Nina,
: : Thank you very much for answering the questions I had! I appriciate it!

: : In other words, the whole process from the marriage to the Citizenship should take in the neighborhood of 4 years. Right?
: : Thanx!

: To be exact it would be three years but to get a citizenship certificate it takes from six months to one year. Depends on a state where a couple lives. Anyway, in two years after an intervew you are already a permanent resident of the USA.
My daughters boyfriend of 8 year's has a brother who married a girl from Venesula, she was over here on a visa when they married. About a year after they were married she went home to visit her father. Upon her trying to return back here to the U.S., they somehow found out that she was using a fake S.S.# and when she told them that she had to come back, that she was married to an american. They said too bad. They didn't believe her. Because she was lying about the S.S.#. Her husband was contacted by her mother, to try and help get her back. But he was mad at her for going in the first place, so he wouldn't help her to get back. About a year passed and she came back on her own. They got back together, and they had a son. They have been back together for about 2 years now,and have been very happy. Now she says she has to go back because her visa is up. And she plans to take James Jr. with her. Well every one is very upset. The grandparents here, are very upset, because they feel that they will never see thier grandchild again. They are afraid she won't be able to come back again for some reason. Isn't James Jr. an american citizen? Can she just take him? Shouldn't she be an american citizen by now. Or shouldn't it be easy for her to become one by now. They have been married about 4 years now. She says they won't let her be permanent because of the S.S.# incident. But should that have any bearing on them letting her stay here and not be on a visa. And also should she be able to take the baby with her? Thank you for any help,, Nancy
