: Dear List (and especially Tatiana Durbak):
: Following my marriage to my wife in Ukraine (I'm American), and the immigrant visa processing, she and her daughter are coming to Warsaw for the interview. I am also going to Warsaw to be with her and my stepdaughter during the interview.
: My question: will there be difficulty for my wife, step-daughter and her mother to exit Ukraine by trian to go to Warsaw? Du Ukrainian customs or Polish customs interrogate travelers to see if they are immigrating out of Ukraine? Of course, my wife has a legal right to do this, but I wondered if there has been any history of any difficulty with travel out of Ukraine into Poland for the interview.
: Because my wife is traveling with daughter, will any customs ask for a letter of permission to travel from the father of the daughter? My wife's daughter is in my wife's passport.
: Thank you in advance for any help with this question.
: no you wont have any trouble going to warsaw and neither will your relatives, it is a common practice, and no one cares at all. however, if your motherinlaw wants to come to USA it might be difficult to get a visa from the American Embassy in Kiev. the interview in warsaw is a mere formality. no big deal, just make sure you have all the paperwork in order.
