: It is very difficult for Ukrainians to get a visitor visa to the US. Basically the embassy staff has been ordered to doubt that anyone will return to Ukraine so the burden of proof has to be extremely overwelming proving that the visitor will return. All documentation has to be brought to the interview the first time because when rejected, your next chance is a year later. Basically, there is a de facto policy of discrimination by embassy staff against Ukrainians and you have to prove you have a better life there than you would have here (ie minister of Verhovna Rada). It helps if your wife's relatives are over 65 years. Good luck.
