: You don't need to send an invitation for your mother. Simple letters with your and your mother addresses are enough to show in an american consulate. But there is such a detail as your work visa. An invitation for relatives would be accepted if it submitted by an american citizen. Nowadays it is a big problem to bring immediate relatives here even if you have a Green Card.
: Take a chance, try!
I have friends here from Rivno who when they won a Green Card invite their parents... Each of their parents came one at a time spent their allotted time...
Last parent was only given 1 month by hAmerikan Consulate in Kyiv... Of course they want her to stay at least 6 months. The INS guard at JFK obliged and extend the visa on the spot...
Only problem with this is that the return ticket was no good and they had to rebuy her return ticket so that she sould stay the 6 months.
They just recently got US citizenship but they don't seen to be thinking of inviting anyone...
To busy trying to live here and save so they can go додому!!!!
