: all nationalist movements in Western Ukraine is inspired by m.-f.frome abroud. Actually Western Ukraine is the assense of ukrainian nationalizm and this assense dont need that m.f. who proclamed themselfs to be the nationalists. If you whant to see real ukrainian nationalist whatch every western ukrainian. They are cool!
Ukrainian nationalism actually came from Eastern
Ukraine. It started with Kotlarevsky's Eneida in
spoken Ukrainian, Shevchenko, Poets of Xarkiv,
a half a dozen or so play writers and at the end of 19 century,Lesia Ukrainka. In Western Ukraine,
inspired by national and cultural rebirth in the
East, appeared many writers among them the most prominent and talanted Ivan Franko. Most political ideas likewise had their debute in Eastern Ukraine, like Mixnosky's "het vid Moskvy",
and Dontsov's writings on Ukrainian nationalism.
"Halychany" always rsponded to new political and cultural waves from Easter Ukraine with great enthusiam and no wonder the first conert honoring
T. Shevchenko was performed around 1848 in Peremysl.
