My wife and I were married in Kiev in January, and completed the INS
interview in Poland two weeks ago. She would like to come to America now,
but discovered the issue with OVIR and the exit stamp. She has only her
Ukrainian visa, and sealed envelopes with US immigration documents and the
entry visa to be opened only in the US by immigration officials. What is
the best thing for her to do now? If she shows up at the airport in Kiev
with a one-way ticket and no US visa in her passport, what will likely
happen at that point? We don't like the idea of waiting three months, or
loosing her Ukrainian citizenship if it's not really necessary. At the same
time, we want to be able to return to Kiev in the future with no problems.
We have considered the Polish option.
