: My sister in-law told me that if someone has won a green card and moved to the States, that person has a privilege to attend university for free. I find it hard to believe, as it does not make sense to me that US citizens have to pay to get the university degree and green card holders don't.
: Can anyone resolve this for us? Thanks.
I always wonder how such rumors get started. No one automatically receives the right to attend a US university for free. There are, however, many people who obtain scholarships or other forms of tuition assistance. Many US citizens and residents take out loans to attend school.
