There is no legal way for them to work on a visitor's visa - about this there is no ambiguity. If your visitors hope to stay for the long term, and find an employer who needs their services, that employer can initiate a request for a work visa to replace the visitor visa. Without English language skills, the possibility of this is highly remote.
However, many such "visitors" do manage to find low level jobs for cash at less than minimum wage (~5.00/hr).
If you are in a larger metropolitan area, the visiting Ukrainians usually congregate at a local credit union, or church, and help each other out with finding such temporary jobs. Often they will post notices on a bulletin board in those places with contact info and the type of job they will be willing to do: housecleaning, child care, yard work, construction, window washing, sewing, cooking, dishwashing, and other similar employment. Most depend on their relatives and friends, such as yourself, to spread the word among friends that they are available for odd jobs at people's homes. Maybe they will do a favor (perform some task or other) and are given a "cash gift" in return ...
Some employers take a chance and hire such workers for longer term employment, although they are taking a serious risk because the penalties in this country are pretty stiff nowadays for hiring illegals. The visitor is also taking a risk because if caught, s/he may be deported and denied a visa in the future.
