A grant of advance parole makes it possible for a person with a pending application for adjustment of status to leave the US and to re-enter.
The term means "permission to re-enter, given ahead of time."
It's important to be aware of the fact that a person who is trying to re-enter with an advance parole document will be subject to all of the bars of inadmissibility, including the 3-year and 10-year bars for unlawful presence.
