I am afraid neither INS nor my lawyer here in the US can help me - they don't know (and don't have to) Ukrainian laws. I was told my "problem" is that I never told any "institution" in the Ukraine that I am moving. I really don't know, I am totally confused in this case. I was told that before I moved I had to get some "stamp" in my passport. I know it sounds totally silly, I lived in the Czech Republic for seven years and had Short Term Residency there and never had any problems. Just trying to check before I go to Ukraine to visit parents. What did you mean by "passport from USA"? I am still a Ukrainian citizen, not american. Just have an INS stamp that I have Green Card.

: : After I got my Green Card in the USA I was going back to the Ukrain to visit my parents. But I was told that if I go there now, I will not be allowed by the Ukrainina government to leave the country and that I will have to wait till I get a US citizenship. Is this true? Does anybody have any experience or any contact to a reliable source of information (laywer)? Thank you.

: :I don't know who told you that, its not like that.As long as you have passport from USA,you will not have anything to worry about Ukrainian government. No one will stop you from leaving Ukraine.Know many people done that with out any problems. You can alway's check with INS.
