Hello! My question is this: I have arrived in America on a K-3 visa. My husband and I were married in Ukraine. After we were married, we were told by the INS that we must send in the form I-130 in order to send in the form I-129F in order to get my K-3 visa. At the time we were not told that we should also send in the I-485 package of forms as well. (This would include the I-485, I-765, support affidavit, etc.) We are now getting conflicting information as to whether or not we can send in the I-485 package now, or wait until the I-130 is approved before we send in the I-485 package. We have heard from two different INS officers.. One says we can send the package now, the other says that we cannot and should wait till the I-130 is approved. The problem we have with this is if we have to wait till the I-130 is approved, it may be more than a year or two before I am able to obtain a social security number so that I may find a job. If anyone has any information they can share that would help us I would be most appreciative.
